The United States men's national basketball team has won the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The Americans defeated Serbia in the final, 96-66, to capture their third straight gold medal.

Kevin Durant led the way for the United States with 30 points, while Carmelo Anthony added 16 points and Paul George scored 15 points. Nikola Vucevic led Serbia with 12 points.

The United States dominated the game from start to finish, taking a 30-point lead in the second quarter. Serbia managed to cut the deficit to 11 points in the third quarter, but the Americans pulled away in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

The gold medal is the 15th for the United States in men's basketball at the Olympics. They are now tied with the Soviet Union for the most gold medals in the event.
